About Kerri Hawkins
Kerri's Wellness Philosophy:
Kerri became a dietitian to help people feel good about themselves, enjoy the food they eat and learn to love what their bodies can do for them. Kerri's wellness philosophy is "NOT one size fits ALL". Each individual has to find what is right for their lives and bodies. She love PEARING up with clients to create sustainable plans to help them reach their goals and potential.
Kerri's believes the desire to be healthy is not the problem. The challenge is finding the time, support and courage to try something new. She works alongside you creating lifestyle plans and goals that are effective and sustainable.
Kerri Hawkins is a Registered Dietitian and a Certified Personal Trainer. She is married to Brian, who she met golfing. He is a culinary explorer willing to make or travel anywhere to try good eats! She is also a boy mom to her food loving son Lincoln.
Kerri started her career as a Bariatric Dietitian at Tufts Medical Center, where she has become an expert in weight management and bariatric surgery. Through that experience she developed a passion for preventive medicine and nutrition therapy. In 2011 she joined Family Practice Group, P.C.in Arlington Massachusetts where she works in a collaborative medical model knows as a Patient Center Medical Home.
Kerri has also co-founded the nonprofit WellnessCampaign.org. Wellness Campaign is supporting thousands of people who are struggling with their health and weight-related chronic disease. The small-group model generates support and accountability, inspiring people to make long-term changes in how they move, how they eat, and how they live.
Kerri is also very involved in promoting the dietetic profession with her involvement in the Massachusetts Dietetic Association and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She was awarded the Young Dietitian of the Year Award from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and served as the President of the Massachusetts Dietetic Association in 2012-2013. She continue to remain very active on various boards for these organizations.
Kerri received her masters degree in Nutritional Sciences from The Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University, completed her dietetic internship at the Frances Stern Nutrition Program at Tufts Medical Center and her bachelors degree in Dietetics from the University of New Hampshire. Kerri also has become a Certified Personal Trainer from the American College of Sports Medicine.
Kerri has a passion and love for anything that involves being active and outdoors. Skiing is her go to activity during the winter, once spring hits out comes the golf clubs and in the summer she surrounds herself with family as much as possible enjoying long days on the beach. She is a total foodie so loves reinventing recipes with her husband in the kitchen and traveling the world experiencing new cultures and foods.
